Why are people so downon the fact that it is an ad? Advertising art has contributed to cutural memes for decades. Instead we should be cheering an advertiser like VW that doesn't talk down to us in some kind of idiotic 5 second sound byte shorthand and gives us credit for having some brains.

"only" an ad? You watched it, didn't you? And if it were not an ad, and an extremely clever one, you would never have seen it, because no one would have had the resources to produce it. Why don't you go out and produce an ad that has people gasping, then come back and talk about "only" an ad.
