I don't recommended doing this in hospital lifts (elevators) but at a hotal or something it would be gd

Meh. I saw no indication at all that there was anyone at all trying to use the elevator at the same time. This could have been in a closed building at 5:00am on a Sunday morning for all we can tell. This is an attempt to start a new urban legend.

about 25 years ago, I was a bellman at a hotel. My income was primarily tips. I used this trick (a variation of it, on Otis elevators of the time, if you hold the floor button in until the door is completely closed, that was express mode) to increase my tips. During a rush, the more bags you can handle, the more tips you get. Having to endure 10 stops on the way down can really impact your ability to handle a lot of bags. With this trick, I handled more customers than my co-workers.

NO! Don't teach people how to use express....Then everyone will know how to do it and it will actually take longer to get there because only 1 person will be going up and down at once due to everyone using express... Especially in a hospital when we have to rush the patience to a certain floor we need to use express...
