Ninja Warrior Makato Nagano, amazing feat

I saw this show for the first time the other day, the amount of upper body strength and endurance needed for that last leg is just insane. VERY impressive.

I love that show. Those stunts are absolutely insane. I've seen that guy almost make it a bunch of times, I'm glad he finally did it.

Posted by: Lindsay 14 May 15:36

I officially love irony. I saw this show yesterday on Mothers day with my family. Wow my family is weird. I love how I just HAPPENED to stumbleupon this site.

Posted by: Logreglan i Borgarnesi 14 May 20:24

wow! you must be peeing in my mouth!

Posted by: rosssco 14 May 21:45

yeah i stumblupon-ed here too. nice vid!

Posted by: VelcroShoes 15 May 06:48

great vid i wish i knew what the commentator was saying and what is that stuff they're spraying on their hands? i want some of that

Posted by: Amber 15 May 13:22

Wow, we are all about stumbling aren't we? That's how I got here, too. That stuff is insane! I think it would be so cool to watch something like that in person!

Posted by: Kabaka 15 May 13:51

I StumbleUpon...-ed this video too. That's so inhuman! I can't believe these guys can do that. I guess with a lot of training and whatnot, but still. Wow!

Posted by: TurboFool 15 May 15:54

Also a Stumbler, also blown away by this. And why isn't there television this cool in the US?

Posted by: oriental 15 May 16:36

Stumbler here and love it, thanx!!!

Posted by: Chilean Warrior 15 May 17:26

Stumbled my way here too. I don't know, I go to the gym regularly, and I dont think that that trail is THAT difficult. I think the only part that could trouble me would be the part with the leap from the bar to the red cliff and the part where he crossed the big blue/purple curtian. I'm just saying, I bet it looks way harder once you are up there....

Posted by: TedNugentsBoner 15 May 17:40

You are dumb if you think that looks easy. I'm sure someone could do 1 or 2 of those challenges, but all of them in a row without failure? Sheesh.

Posted by: captain-murphy 15 May 19:50

Stumbled here. I love this show its really amazing to see his progress alone all the way through. Really amazing.

Posted by: screaming guy 15 May 23:11

the commentator was going nuts at the end every word was shouting

Posted by: Gatts 16 May 14:43

that show is so sick, what is it called? and i agree with turbo, we should have stuff like this in the US..

Posted by: Rachel 16 May 17:45

That is Ninja warrior, they have it on the channel G4. 6:30 pm and 10:30 PM est. cool that someone spliced the 4 events together.

Posted by: Longie 17 May 02:35

Stumbled here also- great athlete !!!

Posted by: Rebecca 18 May 21:24

That guy is my hero.

Posted by: Ricky 18 May 21:59

Posted by: Jayasimhan 18 May 22:29

Unbelievable!

Posted by: Fellow Stumbler 19 May 03:31

Yep... I stumbled here to. But yeah -- That's amazing! I've watched this show dozens of times, and I've seen people come ever so close, but he's the first person I've ever seen actually make it to the goal!

Posted by: Jonathan B 19 May 04:47

Stumbled from Crocket, CA. One word: AWESOME. Reality in general must be so much cooler in Japan.

Posted by: Lacoomee 20 May 19:23

stumbled my way along here too.. thumbs up to that guy managing all of those events!! That commentator was seriously insane.. i tried to imagine an englihs dude getting so excited over gladiators or something.. lol too weird..

Posted by: Charmaine 22 May 17:28

Holy Cow! What a test of human strength and mental focus. Talk about principles above personality!

Posted by: Kevin 22 May 21:08

Lindsay, that's not irony. That's coincidence.

Posted by: Jake Klopp 22 May 22:10

It doesn't matter how many times I see this last clip of Nagano and the rope, it always gets me on the edge of my seat. (Btw, stumbled here but love ninja warrior)

Posted by: Quicken2 23 May 02:38

Does anyone else remember the show, American Gladiators? If this guy were on it, I think he'd beat the crap out of every other person. Awesome video with amazing feats.

Posted by: Marteeno 23 May 13:44

Damn, those Japanese sobriety tests are hard!

Posted by: weird26 23 May 14:17

That is a damn fine example of pure awesomeness! And what do you know, I StumbledUpon this too! Hahaha.

Posted by: Alexis 23 May 14:45

Sue, This guy is absolutely insane! All I have to say is that those Japanese Police men sure put that guy through one hell of a sobriety test!:-)~ Moral of the story?: Don't drink and drive in Japan. Not worth it:-)~

Posted by: Gimpy 23 May 15:04

Watched Ninja Warrior for the first time last night. Wow! That stuff is insane in the membrane. I'm gonna continue to watch it for sure. This guy though right here is the best. Crazy Asian skills.

Posted by: Tyler 23 May 15:35

This is in the us, the show is called Ninja Warrior and is on the channel G4 a whole lot.

Posted by: Peter 23 May 18:15

mmm. Stumbled. Almost fell. Made it!

Posted by: Aaron 23 May 23:34

Go Stumble! Holy crap, i get winded walking the dog. Why are the Japanese better at EVERYTHING?

Posted by: Will Smith 24 May 00:31

Posted by: amandagrrl 24 May 12:01

Rock on, SU!! If I needed to be rescued, this is the guy I'd want to call. He's a true Ninja.

Posted by: Had this to say: Had this to s 24 May 18:42

I stumbled here as well ;D. Good stuff.

Posted by: kayla 25 May 12:56

Yep, I stumbled my way here also... What an awesome example of wow.

Posted by: ninja_squirrel 25 May 18:01

Awesome, fellow stumblers. The hardest feat, to me, is the rope climb. Requires really good strength to body weight ratio - like gymnasts have, not body builders. Thanks for heads up on G4 viewing.

Posted by: ashleyncl 25 May 18:58

yes.. also a stumbler... I watch this on tv and they actually give you sub-titles.. the things they say are quite funny

Posted by: GoombaDragoon 25 May 19:59

Also a stumbler, this video was incredible; why don't we get these kind of shows in the U.S?

Posted by: Lt.Pliskin 26 May 00:14

Fellow Stumbler here(thanks davefp!). This guy is amazing, there is no anyone I know who would even attempt to do what he accomplished. Great for him.

Posted by: stumbler 26 May 03:59

Another SU traveller. Very impressive performance. (I think I could do the yelling in the mike part)

Posted by: Yes, another Stumbler. 27 June 14:10

It safe to say that if we go to war with Japan again, we're F***ed.

Posted by: StumbleExtreme 29 June 23:12

Thanks StumbleUpon.

Posted by: FoxyLady415 10 July 15:45

I LOVE THIS SHOW! I used to watch it when it was on Spike TV and now I watch it on G4. Thanks for posting this, I see you posted it on my b-day =)... But anyway I love all the Ninja AllStars! If everyone thinks Nagano is cool, check out the 14 year old kid who made it to stage 3, also check out the 19 year old who made it to the last stage with Nagano. (I forget their names, sorry)

Posted by: Melinda 14 July 13:18

Thanks for the video of Makato Nagano finally getting to the top and pushing that button! After trying many times and missing by a nano-second, it was glorious to see him win! I stumbled on G4 airing Ninja Warrior about six months ago. My first episode was Makato Nagano's first competition. I loved him. He reminded me of a Japanese Bill Bixby. I've been rooting for him ever since! I set my DVR to record every Ninja Warrior. G4 had a mini-marathon on July 10th. It ended with competition #15 (two are held a year). In that one, Makato missed it by a nano-second for the FIFTH time in a row. He was 32. In this video, he's 34. Do you know the date he achieved his goal? Does he plan to keep competing now that he's finally won? In the history of the show, he's only the SECOND winner. For those who think the competition is easy, look again! American Olympic winners haven't passed stage 2. The tower where Makato won is stage 4. (This is my second attempt to post. Sorry if there are two of them.)

Posted by: NachoMan 18 July 21:33

As impressive as this feat is to anyone who sees it here, you can't really appreciate the athleticism of Nagano until you see the hundreds of elite athletes who routinely fail on the obstacles that he breezes through. Those poor souls who haven't seen the shower (particularly the marathon) can't fully appreciate Nagano's victory until they've seen all of the failure's (particularly Nagano's own failure). Btw, with all due respect to the other guy who achieved "Total Victory", Nagano's victory came on a much more difficult course (the obstacles change for each new event and have gotten progressively more challenging). Also, for those who don't know there is a women's only competition as well (although women can compete in the men's (open) event as well. Like everyone else says, this is greate TV. My three-year-old is a huge fan (the crazy japanese commentator is a big reason for that.).

Posted by: xeldor 12 November 19:05

i was actually looking for a site for ninja warriors that has some kind of like profile thing on all the All Star guys (Nagano, Shiratori, etc.). Nagano is definetly my favorite. Im so glad he won... I think hes like 2nd man in history to win Ninja Warrior (maybe not anymore... :P)

Posted by: Ms. Ink 13 November 03:11

Got linked here from a forums site, and this is just truly amazing. I can only imagine the amount of dedicated training these people do in order to reach the top. What an achievement!

Posted by: Melinda 24 November 00:57

Xeldor, and everyone else, wikipedia.com has a detailed article about the history of Ninja Warrior, the obstacles, the two winners, and fan favorites. (Despite all the G4 marathons, I'm *still* waiting to see Nagano win on TV! I am so grateful to have seen it, time and again, on this site. Thanks!)

Posted by: YomommA 3 December 19:44

Posted by: El Rausch 24 December 11:43

Nagano is the best Ninja Warrior, period. Nobody has ever come close to what he brings every tournament.

The Japanese have the best game shows. If they won't make them here (the US), I wish they'd at least show them.
